The road less traveled

Sorry for being MIA… lets just say that I've been busy like everyone else. “Generally” like the PAGASA predicted were having a good weather during the 4 day long weekend and here in our province it’s freaking hot and sunny. I think beaches are packed with bronzed bodies but I’m not thinking of joining them promise beach is not my thing anymore; instead my sister and I paid a visit to our grandfather we miss him so much.

Aside from that, we also wanted to take that day to relax, laugh and talk you know the typical things you do with your sister.

This is my first time wearing maxi skirt and for someone who suffers with “I despite my legs” syndrome, they are my perfect go-to.

This is me trying to show my feminine side pairing a printed blue maxi skirt with a sheer scallop top, flats and bag. I finished the look with a side braid.

The entire look was inspired by Emma Roberts wearing a maxi skirt here.

So what do you think?

Skincare Systems and Technology

I’m not really a beauty junkie. I rarely use make up but I always make sure to put moisturizer and sun block whenever I’m out.

Today I’ll be sharing a perfect skin care product and the timeline of Skin Care History.

Teens get acne of course but did you know that there are adults who continue to struggle with it? I think I’m one of them. It can be irritating, dry and lower one’s self esteem when not controlled. Frustrated at trying all sorts of creams and ointments, where can they turn?

According to Tanda, their acne spot treatment device called tanda zap is the "first and only device that puts the power of three proven technologies at your fingertips, it combines the same powerful blue light technology used by dermatologists with sonic vibration and gentle warming to give you clinically proven clearing results".

Now let’s have a closer look on the infographic of skin care.

What are your thoughts?
Thanks for reading!

I don’t know what got into me

I’ve been in a “shopping mood” ever since I landed Cebu so I decided to do a little window shopping earlier this day but I forbid myself from buying. Unfortunately since I’m a self confessed shopaholic I can’t resist from temptations bought 2 items from SM-GTW. (I’m sorry I’m not a man of my words *insert laugh) Things will get worst if I stayed on the clothing section so I paid it right away and heed for boots section. I don’t know what got into me, maybe I’m a little bit paranoid because of what’s happening in Manila and since I’m moving I want to be equipped with things that will help me survive the rainy season. Haha... But seriously I want to have a pair of boots when I get there soon…

Personally I love boots it adds character to your outfit. But I never really understood why people stare if you’re in boots, they stare and giggle as if you’ve done something wrong or what? Why is that? Just because we’re in a tropical country doesn’t mean that we can’t wear them. So let me address this to the people who are not comfortable about it. Let go of the fear of wearing boots – you can definitely wear boots in the Philippines!  Remember there are three seasons: tag-init or tag-araw, the hot dry season or summer from March to May; tag-ulan, the rainy season from June to November; and tag-lamig, the cool dry season from December to February. (Credits to Wikipedia) Did you read that? I hope you did. We actually have 6 months of rainy season so you have a great reason wearing booties.

“When it rains, it pours”

We use this expression in English to refer to situations wherein many good things or bad things all seem to happen to us at one time. Even if it’s not the rainy season, the Philippines have always been under constant bombardment from “rain” and “bad weather”. I know were all aware that majority in Metro Manila are experiencing continues heavy rains, causing extreme floods, rescuing etc…  I just hope and pray that this will be over soon but for now what’s really important is to stay strong and united. To be honest by watching the victims and rescuers on television I’m really scared for them and scared for myself too coz I never experience extreme flooding that can actually wipe out homes.

Anyway, here are quick ways to donate.

Globe Telecome
 @enjoyGlobe
tweeted "We are waiving our transaction fees for donations made via G-Cash. To donate, text DONATE <amount> <4-digit M-PIN> REDCROSS to 2882"

Smart Communications
@SMARTCares
tweeted "Smart subscribers may send donations to Red Cross via SMS. Text RED <amount> to 4143. (10, 25, 50, 100, 300, 500, 1000)"

LBC Foundation
@LBC_Foundation
tweeted "LBC branches as drop-off centers for Phil. Red Cross. You may take your donations for flood victims to the nearest branch starting tom Aug 8"

McDo Philippines
@McDo_ph
tweeted "McDonald's stores open in Metro Manila are now accepting donations in kind (rice, noodles, canned goods, etc.) for flood victims"

Its been a hard day for everyone but I really hope everyone is safe and that the weather gets better. Good night everyone you’re all in my prayers

I am ready!

“Trapped under the weight of a false accusation, I've done a lot of thinking about the kind of Girl I want to be from now on. I'd like to be the kind who does what she says she's going to do.”

If you’re following me on twitter @itsannrivera then you’d probably have an idea where I got this quote from. One of the few things that I like about being unemployed is that deadlines are the least of my worries. I have all the time in the world so I’ve spent my weeks watching TV series such as The Lying Game, Pretty Little Liars, Once Upon a Time and recently Gossip Girl season 5. But as far as I know myself, I have so many things in mind. Things that I wanted to accomplish, do and experience. Apparently, it’s a whole bunch of stuffs that I don't even know where and how to start because one single thing is holding me back. RESOURCES and you know what I mean.

I’ve never been completely honest to myself. Two years ago I promised to help my family financially; somehow I may have forgotten that promise because after my graduation all I was thinking was living on my own and shopping. I get I wanted but I never thought that I completely turned into something which I’m not proud of. I’ve been selfish, I never cared about my family maybe I did but it was nothing compared to what they’ve shown me. It pains me so much that it takes one life for me to realize all of this.

With the loss of my grandfather I am in the point of my life where I am eagerly to begin anew.  So I plan to move again from Cebu to Manila. But as months go by I am continuously stuck in the place of boredom and unproductiveness. My life currently runs in an endless routine and everyday I feel hopeless and left out. I already am having second thoughts of moving to a bigger City. I now have doubts. They tell me things will fall in to their right places and that GOD HAS BIG PLANS IN STORE FOR ME. Will the world give me a chance to do the things and experience the things I've been meaning to do? Or I just have to impatiently wait for my turn and watch other people have it with a breeze? But after reading the quote it’s as if reality slapped me in the face so hard and it’s hard to shake the pain off my mind. I will never be able to get what I really want unless I do something about it. I have to make some risk, there’s no turning back now. I am ready.
